Danielle Lawrence

“I learned early on that I could let life live me or I could live life.  If we know better, we must do better.  I choose to do this work because there is a need and I am passionate about it.  I believe that prevention and early intervention can change lives and whole family trees.   I also believe that if you’re not outraged then you are not paying attention. Relationships and trust are everything, with these two things we can go farther together.”

Danielle Lawrence is currently the Executive Director of Mutual Assistance Network.  In her role there she oversees a team of people whose focus is to prevent child abuse, help families thrive and strengthen the social and economic infrastructure of neighborhoods.   She has an educational background in Social Work and a work history in foster care and mental health.  She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  Danielle’s passions are centered around increasing equity and opportunity for historically oppressed people and decreasing disparities in the African American population.  She currently is focusing efforts on the Black Child Legacy Campaign in Sacramento County.  She has a passion for organizational and systems change and believes that true change cannot be sustained without a parallel process where work at the institutional systemic policy level occurs.  She is a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho, Sorority, Inc.  She is a wife and the mother of three beautiful daughters.
