LaTanya Mosley

“As an African American woman in society, I have faced a myriad of challenges. As such, my primary goal in this work has been helping other marginalized groups figure out how to navigate a world that was not created to benefit them. I have always had a passion for working in communities that are forgotten about when funding is allocated but remembered when programs are cut. I do this work because I want to see under resourced and underserved families and individuals be provided with access to services and resources that considers their current positions in life as well as how they have been historically disenfranchised, and what this means as it pertains to their quality of life. Working with Mutual Assistance Network has given me the chance to do so in a way that truly matters.”

LaTanya Mosley is the Arcade Community Center Manager with Mutual Assistance Network. In her role, she coordinates and supervises all community center-based parent education, resident engagement, activities, and events at the Arcade Community Center.  She also coordinates the Black Child Legacy Campaign (BCLC) in Arden-Arcade, which seeks to reduce the disparity of African American child deaths in Sacramento County. Her current work allows LaTanya the ability to work in under-resourced communities in a way that puts people first. She works to support families who face social, economic, and political inequities. And that without the work of community-based organizations, families are often not stabilized and face far more trauma than they would without the support of community-based organizations.

LaTanya is a graduate of California State University Sacramento with her Bachelors of Social Work and a graduate with a Masters of Social Work from Western New Mexico University
